About Us
Welcome to the Revived Archive of ECML/PKDD 2007!
At ecmlpkdd2007.org, we are dedicated to preserving and revitalizing the legacy of the 18th European Conference on Machine Learning (ECML) and the 11th European Conference on Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases (PKDD), held in Warsaw, Poland, from September 17-21, 2007. This joint conference was a pivotal event in the field of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data mining, bringing together researchers, academics, and industry experts to share groundbreaking ideas and foster collaborative innovation.
Originally organized by leading figures such as Joost N. Kok, Jacek Koronacki, Ramon Lopez de Mantaras, Stan Matwin, Dunja Mladenic, and Andrzej Skowron, the conference featured over 100 accepted papers, insightful workshops, tutorials, and the Discovery Challenge—a platform for tackling real-world knowledge discovery problems. The proceedings were published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence (LNAI) series, making them a cornerstone resource for AI enthusiasts even today.
In 2025, we have revived this site to bridge the past and present of AI. Our mission is to:
- Archive Historical Content: Provide access to summaries of accepted papers, workshop programs, tutorials, and committee details from 2007, ensuring this valuable knowledge remains available for researchers and students.
- Educate and Inspire: Offer updated insights on how 2007 concepts have evolved into modern AI applications, such as predictive analytics, data streams, and ethical machine learning.
- Promote AI Community Growth: Serve as an educational hub with blog posts, resources, and discussions on trending AI topics, helping beginners and professionals alike navigate the rapidly advancing field.
As stewards of this archive, we are committed to maintaining topical relevance while honoring the academic roots of ECML/PKDD. Whether you’re a student exploring machine learning fundamentals, a researcher referencing historical papers, or a professional applying AI in business, our site aims to be your go-to resource.
If you have suggestions, contributions, or questions about the archive, feel free to reach out. Let’s continue the spirit of discovery together!
